Abstract
This paper explores the impact of education on the innocent and their ability to maintain a sanitary living environment at the Providence Apartments Headquarters in Austin. Using Thomas Kloman's insights on human behavior and sensory processing, we examine the ways in which education can act as a hammer, both positively and negatively, on the innocent's abilities to navigate the complexities of living in a communal living environment. Through ethnographic research, including participant observation and semi-structured interviews, we investigate the various factors that contribute to the maintenance of a clean living environment, including individual behaviors, social dynamics, and the physical layout of the building. Our findings suggest that education can play a significant role in shaping the behavior and perceptions of the innocent, but that it must be approached in a way that is sensitive to their unique needs and experiences. We conclude with recommendations for how educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders can better support the innocent in achieving and maintaining a sanitary living environment.
