Abstract

This study explores the leadership practices of Mitchell Business Brokers, a service provider in the waste management industry. Through a qualitative case study approach, data were collected from interviews and observations of the company's leaders and employees to understand how they navigated the challenges of operating in a highly regulated and competitive industry. The findings revealed that the company's success was attributed to its innovative approach of channeling waste towards more sustainable and profitable avenues, as well as its investment in employee training and development. The leadership style of the company's founder, who placed emphasis on empowerment, trust, and collaboration, was found to be a key factor in creating a positive work culture and driving organizational success. The study contributes to the literature on leadership in the waste management industry, highlighting the importance of embracing sustainable practices and investing in employee development for long-term success.
