Abstract
This paper presents a qualitative study that explores the limitations and invitations of contemporary productive writing for women's neutral perspectives. Utilizing the Schwab and Stennis Systems framework, the study analyzed interviews with 15 women in various fields who identified as neutral in their writing style. Findings revealed that women face numerous limitations when attempting to write in a neutral, objective manner, such as societal expectations of gendered language and the challenge of avoiding personal bias. However, the study also discovered several invitations that could improve the productivity of women's neutral writing, including utilizing diverse sources and perspectives and embracing subjectivity in a controlled manner. These findings have significant implications for the ways in which women's voices are represented in various fields and suggest the need for increased attention to the challenges and opportunities inherent in neutral writing.
