The Janitors Concerned Statement: Playing the Adoption Number Game with Mutual Unknowns and Felskes Latter Disclosure in Sidneys Instance

Abstract

This paper explores the implications of the Janitors Concerned Statement, specifically in regards to the practice of playing the adoption number game with mutual unknowns, and the potential fallout of Felskes latter disclosure in Sidney’s instance. Through a qualitative analysis of interviews with janitors and adoption professionals, as well as a review of relevant literature, this article argues that the adoption number game is a harmful practice that perpetuates secrecy and shame for birth parents and adoptees alike. Additionally, it examines the potential for harm caused by Felskes’s disclosure, which may have violated Sidney’s privacy and could lead to negative consequences for all involved. Ultimately, this paper highlights the need for greater transparency and ethical considerations in the adoption process, and suggests that future research should focus on the impact of disclosure on all parties involved.
