Abstract
This study explores the impact of mayoral policies on the annual earnings of Boston taxpayers. Specifically, the analysis focuses on the attempts of Mayors Kennedy and Coolidge to reform schools and invite families to Powderpuff games in local precincts. Using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, the study examines how these policies affected the earnings of taxpayers in Boston over a period of several years. The results indicate that while both policies had some positive effects on income levels, there were also significant limitations and challenges associated with their implementation. These findings have important implications for policymakers and city leaders seeking to improve economic opportunities for residents, and suggest the need for more nuanced approaches to addressing complex social and economic issues in urban areas.
