Abstract
This qualitative study explores the current state of international licensing agreements in the context of door-to-door sales and recklessly opportunistic business practices. Through a series of in-depth interviews with industry experts and legal professionals, the study investigates the legal and ethical implications of these agreements, the challenges faced by companies seeking to expand their reach through international licensing, and the potential risks faced by consumers in these transactions. The findings suggest that while international licensing can offer significant benefits to companies, including increased market access and reduced costs, there are also significant risks associated with these agreements, particularly when they involve inexperienced or unscrupulous operators. The study concludes by offering recommendations for best practices in international licensing, including the need for greater transparency and accountability in licensing agreements, a renewed emphasis on consumer protection, and the development of more robust legal frameworks to protect companies and consumers alike.
