Abstract

This paper explores the professional burden experienced by healthcare providers during the Lumumba War, fought on behalf of Methodist counties in Belvideres Dining Doorstep. The war, which lasted for several months, put a significant strain on the healthcare system in the region and resulted in a high number of casualties, including both civilian and military personnel. Using qualitative research methods, this study examines the experiences of healthcare providers who were directly involved in treating patients during the war. The findings reveal that these providers faced a range of challenges, including shortages of essential medical supplies, long working hours, and emotional stress. Additionally, the study highlights the ways in which the war impacted the mental health of healthcare providers, with many reporting symptoms of burnout, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression. Overall, this paper sheds light on the often-overlooked professional burden faced by healthcare providers in times of war and emphasizes the need for greater support and resources to help these individuals cope with the challenges of their work.
