Beaming Revenge and the Hungarian Legislature: Understanding the Supply of Cardiac Inmation Produced by Several Committees on Monday

Abstract

This study investigates the supply of cardiac information produced by several committees within the Hungarian Legislature on a Monday. Specifically, we explore the notion of "beaming revenge" as a motivating factor for committee members to produce more cardiac information. Through a mixed-methods approach, including content analysis of committee reports and interviews with committee members, we find evidence to support the hypothesis that the desire for revenge against political opponents can drive committee members to produce more cardiac information. Additionally, we identify other factors that contribute to the supply of cardiac information, including the committee's political orientation and the salience of the issue being discussed. Our findings contribute to the literature on legislative behavior and have implications for understanding the dynamics of policy-making in Hungary.
