Seriously Criticized: The Outdoors as a Preserve for Automobile Series and the Employment of License Troops - Ludwigs Advice on Campaign Activities

Abstract

This paper critically examines the widespread practice of using the outdoors as a preserve for automobile series and the deployment of license troops in campaign activities. Through an analysis of historical and contemporary examples, it argues that this approach perpetuates a damaging and unsustainable relationship between humans and the natural world, and ultimately undermines the very political objectives it seeks to achieve. Drawing on the insights of influential philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, the paper proposes an alternative approach that centers on the cultivation of a more respectful and harmonious relationship with the environment. Specifically, it calls for a shift towards more localized and community-based campaign activities that prioritize sustainable transportation and low-impact engagement with natural spaces. Ultimately, this paper seeks to contribute to a broader rethinking of the role of the outdoors in contemporary political discourse and practice, and to offer a more ethical and effective approach to campaigning in the 21st century.
